Last newsletter we mentioned that three new villages wanted our afterschool tutoring program that we started in a village near our Children’s Home many years ago. Two villages have been added on a daily basis. First the 9-12th grade students started on 1 September then all the students from 1st grade onward started 9 November. The original village program continues. That means well over 100 children a day receive tutoring from teachers we hired along with book bags and all school supplies. Right now with coronavirus still present we just hand out packaged food. The third village will start as soon as we find a qualified teacher. Our Children’s Home added 12 new children this school year as we are the only hostel still open in the local area through the pandemic. Several students from far away still can’t come back with all the restrictions of travel. To give you an idea how strict it is, Vicki and I had to take four coronavirus tests this trip as we moved from area to area.
